Whale Done: The Positive Approach to Leadership

Whale Done: The Positive Approach to Leadership is a 4-hour workshop based on the concepts of operant learning and positive reinforcement. The course starts by teaching the theories behind these concepts, highlighting an extensive history of sound psychological research supporting them. Since the 1950s, research has shown the power of positive reinforcement, first in human activities and relationships, and subsequently with animals. Participants are shown how, despite the effectiveness of positive reinforcement, people default to negative reinforcement and punishment when dealing with others. Through this course, participants become more aware of their interpersonal communication styles. Emphasis is placed on exploiting the positive and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
